Australian buyers looking for an affordable small SUV now have an updated option, as Chery Motor Australia prepares to launch the refreshed 2026 Chery Tiggo 4 later this month. Sticking with its attractive $23,990 drive-away starting price, the facelifted model drops the “Pro” badge and gains sleeker styling, including a striking new rear-end design.

What’s new for the Chery Tiggo 4?

The most noticeable change is the full-width LED taillight bar that stretches across the tailgate, giving the Chery Tiggo 4 a sharper, more premium appearance. Fresh alloy wheels round out the exterior tweaks—17-inch on the Urban base model and 18-inch on the top-tier Ultimate.

Performance and efficiency

Under the bonnet, the Chery Tiggo 4 continues with its 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 108kW and 210Nm. It’ll come with a CVT automatic and fuel efficiency to remain steady at 7.4 L/100km.

There are reports that the Tiggo 4 is also included in Chery’s big push for a hybridised range of vehicles this year. So, if you’re keen on a hybrid powertrain for your small SUV, you can hold out for more updates from Chery later this year.

Tech & safety specs

Even the entry-level Urban variant comes generously equipped with:

  • Dual 10.25-inch displays (infotainment and digital instrument cluster)
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Seven airbags
  • Advanced safety tech like AEB, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist

Upgrading to the Tiggo 4 Ultimate comes with premium features like:

  • 360-degree surround-view camera
  • 15W wireless phone charging
  • Synthetic leather upholstery
  • Six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat
  • Colour-selectable ambient lighting

Warranty and ownership

Chery continues with its robust after-sales support, with a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, seven years of capped-price servicing, and roadside assistance over the same period.

When does it arrive?

The updated Tiggo 4 will arrive in Australian showrooms by the end of the month, with customer deliveries to follow shortly after. For pocket-conscious buyers wanting more bang for their buck, the 2026 Tiggo 4 could tick all the right boxes in the competitive small SUV segment.
