MG4 Electric is a budget electric hatchback option from China that may not have crossed your mind, but getting some hands-on time reveals it has plenty to offer. For a while now, MGs designs felt a bit copy-paste and lacking in creativity, but this all-new EV comes with stunning new looks with a great use of chrome finishes and ofcourse 7 vibrant colours to stand as evidence for your excellent choice.

It comes with a dual-motor setup, good for 300kW with 250 Nm of torque from the front motor and 350 Nm from the rear. All variants of the MG4 electric car have a standard 10.25-inch infotainment system and a 7.0-inch drivers display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available but only with wired connectivity. Additionally, the infotainment system is quite glitchy and it is also the only way to operate the climate controls which is not an intuitive user experience. Another problem that XPower has to address is that drive modes are to be changed from the screen with over 5 taps.
