Let one of our friendly team know - we might have the perfect car waiting backstage.
The Subaru Impreza that arrived in 2016 is surprisingly large by small car standards. Rear seat room, in particular, is very forthcoming, which is a plus for families or those who want to ferry their friends around.
The 2016 Impreza is also the first one not to be offered with a manual gearbox. Instead a CVT (continuously variable transmission) auto is standard and – in true Subaru form – it drives all four wheels.
With a focus on safety Subaru also ensures its cars not only perform well protecting their occupants in a crash but also work to avoid them in the first place. The EyeSight system uses dual forward-facing cameras to spot obstacles and other vehicles and potentially apply the brakes.
All models come with a 2.0-litre horizontally-opposed engine, hence the 2.0i badge on the back.
Even the basic model – simply called 2.0i – comes loaded with gear as part of Subaru's positioning as a more premium mainstream brand.
If you get the 2.0i-L or 2.0i-S there’s progressively more equipment and nicer finishes.
The 2.0i Premium comes with a generous spread of gear, as the name suggests.
And you can choose between hatchback and sedan body styles.
