Toyota does not rely on one model to carry its used-car demand in Australia. Corolla, Camry, RAV4, Kluger, C-HR and Hilux all do very different jobs making Toyota second-hand cars a versatile pick because the same make can cover a first car, a family SUV, a rideshare-friendly sedan, a seven-seat option and a work ute. On Cars24, Toyota used cars currently fall within $2090 to $69990, depending on model, year, kilometres, variant and fuel type.
Between FY April 2024 and March 2026, Cars24 internal data recorded 1,630 Toyota cars sold, with Corolla, Camry, RAV4, Kluger and C-HR leading buyer demand. We have weaved an online experience that adds the confidence buyers usually look for in a used-car purchase with thoroughly inspected cars, car history details and a 30-Day Return Guarantee*.
Â
Cars24 internal sales data shows Corolla, Camry, RAV4, Kluger and C-HR were the top five Toyota models sold between FY Apr 2024-Mar 2026. That spread says a lot about Toyota Australia demand. Buyers are not choosing just one kind of Toyota car. They are moving between small cars, sedans, SUVs and family wagons based on what their life needs.

Avoid jumping between listings, sellers and half-finished details and follow this checklist, instead.Â
1. Start with Toyota used cars and filter by model, price, year, kilometres, fuel type, transmission and body type.
2. Shortlist the cars that suit your daily requirements from driving, not just the lowest price on the page.
3. Check the condition report, odometer, service notes, PPSR details and photos before you move ahead.
4. Book a test drive or reserve the car online, where available.
5. Review finance, trade-in, rego transfer and delivery support before you finalise the purchase.

A used Toyota Corolla is worth looking at if you want a small car. Petrol hatchbacks and sedans suit anyone who wants a straightforward daily car with five seats, easy parking and running costs you already know how to budget for. The hybrid comes into its own in city and suburban driving, where all that stop-start traffic gives the system more chances to enhance your driving experience.Â
Check transmission before you commit to a listing because later Corollas are almost all automatic these days and the Ascent Sport, SX and ZR grades mostly change what features you're getting rather than the basic character of the car underneath. Go back a few years and you’ll still find manual petrol versions in the used market, so it’s not something you can assume either way with an older model. On Cars24, all of that sits in one listing: fuel type, transmission, kilometres, condition, history, so you're not stuck guessing from a few photos and a vague description.
Perfect fit for: First-car buyers, city drivers, couples and small families who want a Toyota pre-owned car that feels practical without being boring.
Â
Not everyone is chasing an SUV, a used Toyota Camry is for the buyer who like a Sedan. It's noticeably bigger inside than a Corolla, rides more settled on the highway and has a good boot space. Petrol Camry is simple but the hybrid is where it gets interesting though, especially if you're doing a lot of city and suburban driving, that's the kind of stop-start running where the hybrid setup really earns its place.
With a used Camry, you really want the car and the paperwork to make sense together. A clean service history is a good sign, but also look at the cabin, tyres and suspension to see if the kilometres feel believable.
Good fit for: Commuters, small families, anyone doing rideshare-style driving.

Toyota has a strong reputation but that does not mean every used Toyota has lived an easy life. Before you decide, check:
Â
A used RAV4 tends to suit people after SUV space, without going all the way up to a Kluger. While buying used, you're mostly weighing up petrol against hybrid, 2WD against AWD, and then which grade, GX, GXL, Cruiser or Edge, actually matches how you live. Petrol is the simple, no fuss choice. Hybrid pulls ahead if you're doing a lot of city and suburban driving, since that slower, stop-start stuff is exactly where the hybrid system does its best work.
2WD is the sensible call if you're mostly on sealed roads and want one less thing to think about mechanically. AWD starts to make more sense once you're regularly loading the car up, driving wet regional roads, or just want that extra grip for weekends away. As for grade, GX keeps things practical and no nonsense, GXL is usually where it clicks as the sweet spot, and Cruiser or Edge lean into more comfort and cabin tech if that's what you're after. Cars24 lets you line up RAV4 listings by fuel type, drivetrain, kilometres, variant, condition and history, so you can shortlist without jumping between ten different tabs.
It's the right call for anyone who's outgrown a Corolla Cross or C-HR but doesn't actually need seven seats.
Â
Buying a used Toyota privately can work out, but you're the one doing all the legwork. Inspection, PPSR check, paperwork, haggling over price and usually a test drive squeezed in on someone's driveway while they hover nearby. Dealerships take some of that off your plate, but you're still at the mercy of whichever dealer you walk into, what they've got on the lot that week, and how upfront they actually are about the car's history.
Cars24 shifts most of that online before you ever have to talk to anyone. You can sit with a coffee and compare Toyotas by price, kilometres, year, fuel type and body type, no pressure, no salesperson standing over your shoulder. Cars24 Select cars come with the inspection already done, pricing that's fixed upfront rather than negotiated, car history sorted, and return cover on eligible cars if it's not what you expected.

| Toyota model | Body type | Similar model from another make | Suited for |
| Toyota Corolla | Hatchback/sedan | Mazda 3, Hyundai i30 | Buyers who want a small car that feels easy in traffic, sensible to run and still comfortable enough for regular highway use. |
| Toyota RAV4 | Medium SUV | Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage | Buyers compare five-seat family SUVs with good boot space, higher seating and a more settled feel for longer drives. |
| Toyota Camry | Sedan | Mazda 6, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Cerato sedan | Buyers who prefer sedan comfort, a proper boot and a calmer drive over the height and bulk of an SUV. |
| Toyota Hilux | Ute/cab chassis | Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-MAX, Ford Ranger | Buyers who need a ute for work, towing, site use or weekend carrying, not just a car that looks tough. |
| Toyota C-HR | Compact SUV | Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-3, Kia Seltos | Buyers who want SUV height and a smaller footprint, but do not need the space or running costs of a RAV4. |
